Korro Tharribis System
The Korro Tharribis system was, once, a fairly useless system within the NorAellian sphere of influence. Post IW3, the NorAellians opened this system up when a group of human starship designers (Emory, Talbot, AetherLux, etc) were looking for a place to host a long-term exposition. The Century Design Expo was the result.
Korro Tharribis was, upon initial discovery, believed to be a useless system for the NorAellians. The only habitable planet was on the inner edge of the habitable zone, rendering the planet too arrid for the NorAellians life cycle. Even GikDaa and eventually Lyndri were uncomfortable on the planet.
It was the Lyndri who first found the gargantuan caves that held the planet's water. Sadly, this discovery was too little, too late and the entire system faded into obscurity for millenia, during which time a rogue, mineral-rich planet wandered into the system and was torn apart by gravitic forces, forming a surprisingly rich asteroid belt just beyond the habitable zone. With the arrival of humanity onto the galactic stage, Korro Tharribis was poised to make a comeback.
When the Third Interstellar War between the League and the Republic concluded, a group of independent ship building companies approached the NorAellians. Initially, they were merely asking if the NorAellians and GikDaa would be interested in participating in a ship design expo. These talks evolved and eventually, the NorAellians offered up the Korro Tharribis system as the perfect place to house the Expo in perpetuity. Partnering with the GikDaa and Lyndri, the three races made a few terraforming changes and officially changed the name of the habitable planet to Port Pesse.
At the same time, the conglomeration of ship builders constructed a massive, custom station in high orbit over Port Pesse. The two largest companies (Emory and Talbot) also build secondary stations all their own.
Along with the stations and the resort being built on planet, a GalNet station was constructed as was an H3 extractor platform over one of the gas giants. Each of the companies involved in the expo were allowed to mine the asteroids, so long as 5% of the materials were delivered to the NorAellians.
