A military prototype Cruiser is stolen by the Terrans. Lizbeth Locke, mercenary and personal friend to the head of League Intelligence, is sent to recover or destroy it. Onboard is an AI unlike any ever built before — should it fall into Terran hands, it could spell doom for not just the League, but the whole of humanity. The shadow of the Grey hangs over the entire project, this technology having been based off the handful of Grey technology the League has managed to collect. Far better this technology be destroyed than used by those already corrupted by the Grey's influence.
The story is told through multiple POVs: Rekonin's first-person internal monologue, Lizbeth's mission to recover the ship, and Gregorie Harkov (Terran Intelligence colonel) as a memorable antagonist.
