The Tian System (its name translating to "Heaven" in Mandarin) is the ancestral seat of House Simon, one of the ten Founding Houses of the Terran nobility. A modest system by Republic standards: one habitable world, a handful of orbital facilities, and the quiet confidence of old money.
Tian is not a sector capital. No strategic military value, no critical industrial output, no unique natural resources. What it has is history, and in the Republic, history is currency.
House Simon settled Tian early in the colonial period and has held it ever since, even through the family's loss of the Pixiu Sector Magistrate title. The system reflects its owners: well-maintained, orderly, understated in a way that only the very wealthy can afford.
The system's sole habitable world is temperate and pleasant by Terran colonial standards, which means it's been thoroughly industrialized but with enough green space left to remind residents that their world wasn't always covered in concrete. The Simon family estates occupy a significant portion of the northern continent: residences, archives, and private grounds that have served as the House's seat for centuries.
The rest of the planet is standard Republic fare. Factory districts, residential blocks, agricultural zones. It is cleaner and quieter than most Terran worlds, partly because of House Simon's influence and partly because three billion people is practically empty by Republic standards.
The system's primary orbital station handles commercial and civilian traffic. Unremarkable except for the House Simon crest prominently displayed on every docking bay. A reminder of who owns the place.
