New Horizons is the umbrella name for most Lyndri state-owned businesses. The organization has existed since long before the pandemic, and as such, has a long, long memory. However, they pretend that the Lyndri people are incompetent, with them only showing the rest of the galaxy what they expect to see, but continuing to maintain, train, and build Lyndri technology in secret.
The company "Ayri'Syra" was created during the formation of the monarchy. It was designed to give the people hope that the wars and bloodshed of the past could be turned into a future for all Lyndri. This lasted, as all things do, about as long as it took to speak it's name into existence.
Socialism has been the predominant economic system among Lyndri prides for ages, so the idea of a state owned company made perfect sense to most people. However corruption is not unique to capitalism; immediately it was realized that those that control the company would control (in part) the future of their race along with the power to do so. As such, they ensured that the company's image was immaculate and they were loved by all Lyndri, while they stole everything but the jewels from the Queen's crown.
Unfortunately, they became so good at it, this became the status-quo for most of Lyndri history.
When it became obvious both who their real enemy was and the extent of the pandemic, Ayri'Syra's leadership immediately went into control mode. All males at the company were test for infection, any that were not currently infected were immediately euthenized and their dna sampled, and bodies preserved. Those were were infected were cyrogenically preserved in a hope they could be revived once a cure was found.
Next was the building of archives; they recorded length holographic lectures and training material to ensure that no knowledge was lost. They even created a small "Zy'eth'tir" or "Appocolypse Handbook" that fit onto a simple hand unit and could be interected with by someone without technical training, designed to last hundreds or thousands of years without degredation and easy to mass produce. Unfortunately, they were forbidden from producing them by the Queen (though that simply changed how many they made).
As part of that order, the Queen orded them to safe-guard the secret that the Lyndri didn't entirely fall, and maintain the appearance that they're barely scraping by and lost everything in their fall. To do that, Ayri'Syra staged a fall, right along side the rest of Lyndri society. Their offices were closed and ransacked, their stations fell from the sky, and their factories burned.
During the final days of the pandemic, as the Last Queen (Zy'shiel) prepared for her doomed peace mission to NorAel, she appointed the director of Ayri'Syra as her Tchik'al (War Chief). This was not merely an honorary title—the Tchik'al was traditionally the commander of a pride's warriors, with authority over all military forces.
The Queen's orders were clear: preserve everything possible, protect the remaining military, and hide until a cure could be found. When the Queen and her heirs were lost, the Tchik'al's authority remained. In the eyes of Ayri'Syra's leadership, they held—and continue to hold—legitimate governmental authority through an unbroken chain of command from the Last Queen herself.
This claim puts them at odds with the Monarchy in Exile, who claim legitimacy through the Queen's bloodline. The tension between these two factions shapes much of hidden Lyndri politics to this day.
After their society fully collapsed, Ayri'Syra reformed in secret, as if they were a group trying to restart from the ruins, and VyLesh was born. It primarily worked with NorAellians, and as a company, was a disaster. Internally, Ayri'Syra was alive and well, never having ceased operations. VyLesh was a front, while the real leadership of Ayri'Syra continued to live and work on hidden stations across former Lyndri space. They were protected by the NorAellians, using the GikDaa Wall.
From this point onwards, Ayri'Syra hid their main operations from the rest of the galaxy, maintaining and building Lyndri technology for their own use.
After the discovery of Humanity, Ayri'Syra suspected this new species would soon dominate, especially giving their obvious relation to Sooni. They started to make plans against Humanity, but also plans to seem harmless to them.
Once it was clear that they were well established, VyLesh changed their name to "New Horizons", to better appeal to humans. Behind the scenes, Ayri'Syra continues to run the show.
New Horizons Mining and Indutrial is the name for the Lyndri state-owned mining corporation. It's primary focus is on producing and selling ore to help keep the Lyndri government afloat. They primarily operate in raw ore, trying to simply put out as much raw product as possible and letting someone else worry about refining it.
When Ayri'Syra was first created, the Zy'ruhsh ("Eternal Pride") was picked to run it, as their business accumen was unparalleled. While it's no longer the case that the CEO of Ayri'Syra is a Zy'ruhsh, the remnants of the pride form the internal security force for Ayri'Syra, of the same name. While they 'adopt' new employees to become Zy'ruhsh, it's difficult to get in, and often lethal.
The true purpose of the Zy'ruhsh isn't internal security, New Horizon Security Forces is the name of the normal internal group that does that. Instead, Zy'ruhsh operates as a sort of interal force, ensuring that no secrets are ever leaked about what Ayri'Syra truly knows, or how much of the Lyndri people's knowledge has survived.
They're mostly a secret police and assassination squad at this point, will all the power of an Interal Affairs unit.
